ALL NEW SBar Fridays at Sidebar hosted by Dtown Productions

All New Friday Nights at Side Bar – 5/20/11
Written by Remi Sorrentino

DTOWN has teamed up with Side Bar Nightclub for our ALL NEW Friday nights! Voted San Diego’s Best New Ultra Lounge in 2009, Side Bar is definitely more than the name implies. You walk through iron gates surrounding the front patio, and already you can hear the music bumpin. Upon entering, you immediately are seduced by a dimly-lit lounge area in the front that is surrounded by dark-red leather VIP booths, tasteful nude art wall paper and video reels, with a long bar to satisfy any drink concoction you’re up for. But that’s not all. Walk around either side of the bar, and you enter the rest of the nightclub, with more VIP tables, another equally long bar, the DJ booth, and maybe even a few provocative caged up dancers. This ultra lounge has it all. If you’re only up for a mellow night, come in early and enjoy the more relaxed lounge-vibe. If you’re here to party, don’t be mistaken, Side Bar is thee place to be once the nightclub doors open. Once the DJ starts spinnin the latest hip-hop, club, or house hits, Side Bar will be jam packed with people poppin’ bottles and dancing the night away. With beautiful and friendly staff, who will happily help you turn the notch up on your night out, there’s never a dull moment at Side Bar. The staff loves to dress up, not just for the events they throw, but for fun. They really do know how to party. If this sounds your kinda night, don’t be afraid to party with DTOWN crew on our ALL NEW Friday nights at Side Bar, starting this Friday, May 20, 2010. Make sure you RSVP, get there early, and dress to impress. You don’t wanna miss out!

The best gym to get back in shape for the Summer…

(Written by Remi Sorrentino)

I have had a few gym memberships in my day. But I’ve never heard people rave about a gym like people have about Fit Athletic located at 350 10th Avenue in Downtown San Diego. Then, when I got the tour, I understood what the hype was all about. For a $125 membership, you really do get the most “bang for your buck”. Not only does this gym offer gym equipment it provides a panoramic view of Petco Park, a rooftop exercise pool with a hot tub, couches and lounge chairs, and the “spa inspired” bathroom amenities that would fulfill prestigious resorts’ standards.

Aside from your everyday gym equipment, such as a treadmill, free-weights, and a stationary bike, this gym utilizes an MMA fitness area, yoga classes, and advanced fitness classes.

Just when you thought this luxury gym had it all, THERES MORE! They have implemented their own tanning beds, a steam room, delicious premade packaged meals, and “Fit Perks”. “Fit Perks” offers members discounts and deals at all the local/surrounding business located in Downtown San Diego. In comparison to the other gyms in our city, Fit is worth every penny.

Sin City Hot Spots

(Written by Chelsea Lytle)

There’s never a wrong time to head to Sin City, but the best time is finally here! Summer! And by summer, I mean pool parties, hotties, music and alcohol!

One event you don’t want to miss this summer is the F**K ME IM FAMOUS pool party every Sunday by Cathy and David Guetta at Wet Republic. Head to http://wetrepublic.com/ to sign up for their guestlist, or better yet make your Vegas weekend ten times as wild and go VIP; book a bungalow, cabana, or a day bed. Other amazing hot spots for this summer’s pool parties include Hardrock Hotel’s Rehab, Las Vegas’ Dayclub of the Year – Aria’s Liquid, and the newest one yet, Marquee’s Day Club at the Cosmopolitan hotel.  Keep in my mind; if you’re going to a pool to relax, these are NOT the places to go. These pool parties are rowdy and barbaric!

As for the nightlife, you might want to try out Las Vegas’s Nightclub of the Year – Tryst at the Wynn or the Mega-Club of the Year awarded to Pure nightclub at the Caesar’s Palace

I’d give you suggestions on low key things to do in Las Vegas, but if your going to Vegas, why wouldn’t you want it to be just like the movie “The Hangover.” Just make sure you don’t end up at the Best Little Chapel…

Media Coverage on Dtown Productions’ Thursday Events!

Written by Ryan Eisenacher from DiscoverSD.com

Maybe I’m just totally oblivious, but it seems that our favorite San Diego clubs have really been stepping up their a game as of late.

In years past, we locals would put quality music aside in honor of swanky décor and a sizzling hot crowd, but nowadays, our vibrant nightlife scene has read more…

Coachella ella ella a

(Written by Remi Sorrentino)

Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, held annually in Indio, Ca, about 30 minutes from Palm Springs, is just around the corner. Sunshine, a plethora of music genre’s, alcohol (for those 21 and older), beautiful scenery and lots and lots of people. What more can a festival go-er ask for? This year’s lineup includes headliners like Kings of Leon, Kanye West, Cee Lo Green, Duran Duran, Wiz Khalifa, Jimmy Eat World, The Black Keys, and Arcade Fire, but personally, I am more excited about the DJs performing: Boys Noize, Afrojack, A-Trak, Skrillex, Steve Angello, Fedde Le Grand, Laidback Luke, Axwell, Bloody Beetroots, Jack Beats, Duck Sauce, Riva Starr, and the list goes on.

This year it seems the desert is getting invaded not just by the thousands of people they usually expect every year, but also by more lavish Vegas-style pool parties, like the Mist pool party [http://mist.wantickets.com?trackingCode=MistDtown] which is collaboratively promoted by some of LA and SD’s top nightlife promotional companies. This party will showcase many local SD talent like Donald Glaude, Scooter and Lavelle, Tara Brooks, Theron, Jon Dadon, and Dj Flesch just to name a few. The pool party will be held at Agua Caliente Casino, just off the 10 freeway, for the duration of the 3-day festival.

A new addition to this years’ festival are the convenient shuttle services transporting people to popular hotels, in each city, to cut back on traffic. Also, Coachella organizers have added “Luxury Safari Tents”, which will set you back $5000 for the first 2 people. The “Luxury Safari Tent” will include: air conditioning, private restrooms, and come fully furnished.  This years’ event sold out extremely quick, and I can only imagine that next year, it will sell even faster! If you didn’t get a ticket for this year, sorry, hope you learned your lesson; next year, don’t delay!
